Stated dimension is 1 inch, is this correct?** A: The hanger is built like an I-Beam, and the thickness varies. For the purpose of this answer, I will use the same terminology as an I-Beam; That is, beam height vs flange width. The beam height is consistently 9/16", measured at the hook, the top, and the bottom pieces. The hangar is built such that each flange of the I-Beam is a different size, with the narrow flange being 11/16" wide and the wide flange being 1-1/8". The hook is the exception, which is symmetric at the narrow flange dimension (11/16"). Hopefully this helps. **Q: Silly question. is this a must-have, and if so, why? i am just buying my first o'neill suit. do i need this?** A: You don't really need a sturdy hanger like this for just a wet suit. A regular hanger will work just fine. This or other hangers that fold up and have extra hooks for BCD and regulator are great if you have that kind of gear which is heavy and beyond a normal hanger. **Q: Anyone know how big the radius is on the inside of the hook. Making drying rack out of pvc. Need to know what size pipe to use ?** A: although the diameter is a little over 1.5", the opening of the hook is only 1 and 1/4" . So if your placing it over a larger diameter pipe, it will be difficult, possibly break the hangar. Something to think about, Suits that are wet will be heavy, and probably cause the pvc piping to warp. **Q: Will the hook of this hanger fit on the hooks found in most cars' ceilings?** A: If you have a rod across the back. The hanger is pretty wide. It would nt fit the ones that hold one coat on the sides.
