First, not only is the variety of scents amazing but they are all distinctively unique (too many of these "variety" packs tend to smell pretty similar, these don't suffer from that defect). Second, I live in a small 1 bedroom apartment so I lit 1 in the bedroom and then went into my living room. I was surprised that by the time a cone had burned halfway through the scent was evident in the living room-not as intense as in the bedroom but noticeably present. I deducted 1 star for one reason: they're supposed to burn for upto 20 minutes and I found that the maximum burn was about 10 minutes, with no fans or other air circulation in the room.
