I took a chance on these since I've been looking for a shoe to wear for an upcoming Europe trip, where I'll be walking a lot for several weeks. I am a size 8 to 8.5 and ordered a size 8.5 just to make sure that it was roomy enough in the toe area and it fits perfectly. The knit upper is very comfortable, and I can loosen the laces so they aren't tight across my high instep, which I usually have problems with. I've been wearing these almost daily and on long walks to make sure they are super comfortable and I've never found a more comfortable shoe! I have a pair of Altra's which feel a little sturdier, but definitely not as comfortable as these Skechers. The only drawback to these is that they may not be as sturdy and have ankle support when walking on cobbled streets (Edit: After my trip I realize that they aren't as sturdy on cobbled streets. I almost rolled my ankle a few times, but still thought they were incredibly comfortable, and I have worn them almost daily for the last year since buying them). But either way it wasn't the color I wanted based on the photos so returned it.
