Review: Excellent quality but doesn't come with a cover/box. - Works well but it must have come with a carry case or box.
Review: What started as a venture for increased efficiency ended with this little gem. Allow me to explain. For many years I cooked on a 5 burner propane range, which at the time was appropriate because we had a larger family. But the oven was cavernous, very slow to preheat, and the burner rings warped easily. After replacing the thermostat and another costly part in my oven, as well as the burner rings several times, to the tune of several hundred dollars, I was over it. I began looking around for affordable options, and wasn’t sure I wanted another range. It was at this time I discovered the Breville Air countertop oven. I bought it, and immediately loved it... a keeper! Oven problem solved...now my search turned to burners/cooktops. As I use my pressure cooker daily, I really only needed a single burner. I researched and bought an induction burner. I used it for a while and was very happy with it. But living in Maine I did need some sort of back up burner that did not rely on electricity. After some youtube research for alternative stoves, I discovered butane burners. I learned butane is a favorite of preppers, and in Korea, Japan, etc. to cook on table tops. Brilliant!!! After some additional research on desertcart, I purchased this burner. After arrival, I unboxed it, and was immediately struck by it’s clean lightweight design. I popped a canister of butane in and fired it up. I was immediately smitten. The lovely blue flame adjusts to a low simmer and up high to make things come to a boil very quickly. And the sound this thing makes when it lights up is just delectable- it’s a soft “woosh” that I just love! It’s use of fuel is very efficient, it’s Lightweight so it’s easy to move for cleaning, and the top pops off for a quick wash up in the sink. The butane canisters snap in easily, and stays firmly in place with a magnet. To start, you simply turn the knob to the far left...no extra switch to push. It looks great on my countertop. This unit was supposed to be a back up burner in the event of a power outage, but it has ended up being my primary cooking burner. Between the Breville oven, my microwave, pressure cooker, and this wonderful little burner, I have everything I need to turn out delicious and healthy meals, very efficiently. As a result, I got rid of my bulky, fuel gobbling, hard to clean propane stove. In its place I have a new stainless steel stand with shelving for the Breville and it’s accessories, and a lovely woven basket that holds my extra cans of butane for my cooker. While this wouldn’t necessarily be ideal for larger families, it is primarily just my husband and I now, and this set up works perfectly for us. I am so happy with the burner, and will buy another in the event that I need a second burner. Or, simply because I love it so much I really wouldn’t mind having another one to look at!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Is butane explosive? Can I remove and re-place the canister between cooking to lessen risk of fire or leakage from the canister?**
A: Yes it is explosive. The butane in the canisters it is a flammable gas that has been put under pressure to the point it becomes a liquid. We've used the stove about 8x over the last 6 months or so which may not sound like much, but that was mostly because it was nearly winter when we bought it. We like it very much (nice quality material, design, and construction). You can VERY easily remove the canister if you do not feel safe storing it within the stove when not in use. When looking for fuel canisters I also look for brands that have two built-in safety features: 1) A Temperature Sensing Valve (TSV) that shuts off gas flow from the canister if the temperature becomes too high. 2) A Rim Vent Release (RVR) system that will safely vent gas in a controlled manner should the pressure in the canister become too high. Most cans from reliable manufacturers offer at least some sort of a pressure venting system, I just like the added temperature shut-off mechanism as well that companies like Sterno offer. Getting this additional feature doesn't mean you will be necessarily paying "premium" prices ether. Sterno for example usually runs $2.99 for a single can, or more like $2.25 - $2.50 ea. if you order by the dozen/case. I pay a little extra for the extra piece of mind. Since we'll only be using it 1-2x per week now that nicer weather is here, that still only means an operating cost of $3-$6 (1 or two cans) a month with the SLIGHTLY pricier/safer cans.

**Q: any brand of butane 8oz cannister can be used?**
A: Yes,i use sams club butane,i use some butane from an Asian market, this is the best butane burner in the world in my opinion,i bought several at Asian store for 19.95 thinking they work and they do but cheaply made, got a brand name one for same price, pretty red but cheaply made, this TECHEF is quality and ive used mine for 18 months 2 times a day and still works like day 1.I bought a second one just because of the quality.I also own most of there pans, non stick and no bad chemicals, made a philly cheese steak tonight in pan.

**Q: Need the burner**
A: You do lol,its my favorite,i don't use stove top as this is so nice.

**Q: If I were to place it on a plastic table to cook food, will the heat from the burner melt the tabletop?**
A: It shouldn’t but if you’re worried about it put it on a wooden cutting board
