They are probably fine if used with the plastic wall anchors though I doubt anchors will last very long. I had 2 screws shear off in oak that was pre-drilled. The opening function works well. Look closely at the texture in the photo, it is exactly what you get. It's shiny chrome but because the surface is textured like cast iron it's not as shiny as it could be. I prefer brushed nickel and this was brighter than I wanted but it worked. I had both screws break in half on the second use. Used these on beer caddies, and I'm glad I tested it out before giving these out as presents. Replaced all the screws and all seems to be good.
