Yoga toes are very helpful in releasing foot and toe tension and this does improve walking and balance for me. Because I already have a bunion on one foot I doubt these would help keep alignment in that foot but yoga toes help my feet to adapt better to that bunion. **Q: The photo shows only one. Does it come in 2 pieces, I mean one pair ?** A: They do come in pairs **Q: can you sleep in them?** A: They are made of a silicone material, so they will pull off your feet if you get them caught up in a blanket or sheet - also if you toss/turn while you sleep. However, for a little cat-nap, they are great. **Q: What are they made of and are they soft?** A: Hi Elaine, They are very soft and flexible. They are silicone. Yesterday I wore them in the shower! They are very flexible which helps to get them between the toes. When I put them on, I start at the b ig toe and work to the small. I put each "gem" in between the toes and then once done, I go back and pull slightly on each "gem" which really gets it to the base of each toe for maximum stretch.
