The four slot idea is fantastic and the look of this bank is great as well. My son was very excited when it arrived. However, the functionality is terrible. The banks are impossible to open. My 5 year old couldn't open any of these on his own and we had to use a screwdriver to get it open. In doing so, the cover broke. Even worse, it's impossible to use with bills. We just started our kids on an allowance and they receive 1 dollar for each slot. It would probably work great with coins, but barely any bills could fit in here (especially in the baseball/spend bank which is so tiny). You could only probably fit 3-4 bills in the bank, and even then, they are impossible to get out. We actually ripped one bill trying to remove it (and that was me, not my 5 year old son). Although we were excited about this bank, it's going back. My son is sad. :( We also ordered a cupcake version for my daughter which seems to be slightly better as each of the banks are the same, rectangular size. The sports balls are great and he loves that they each have a different purpose: Save, Give, Invest & Spend. It has been great for learning about investing and saving, as well as giving at church and other charities. He looks forward to dividing out his allowance each week. We have even committed to 'match' his investing amount when he reaches a certain level.
