Its a runny gel like consistency with brown blobs in (no idea what they are) and it is unscented - I would call the lather "medium" on the scale. I cannot say I have noticed any difference since using it but this is what I can say; leaves my skin cleansed of make up and does not make skin feel tight or stripped after use. No issues with my acne prone skin or adverse reactions.
