It is cheaper, and this one is so pretty in general. Has anyone had both, and can compare one over the other?** A: I’ve been using Littman brand since 1995. Depending on the type of patient even though I do not work directly in cardiology, have always had issues with getting correct blood pressure readings. The sound just isn’t good enough. Especially peds because her heart rhythm is faster & patients in the gerontology range (that may or may not have pre-existing other conditions). I’ve found that the design of the earpiece from Littman have never been comfortable. Started out as a lifeguard EMT, medical assisting, in-home 24 hour care, pediatric (trauma & oncology), after a while you really start to feel the pressure on your ears in your head which to no surprise interferes with the sound quality. If my ears hurt I’m not going to be able to hear everything I need to. Additionally working under tactical medic conditions, volunteering with Doctors Without Borders (because you don’t have to be a doctor to volunteer you can be a medical assistant/ EMT/ General medical background & a myriad of various disciplines/ A humble & caring bedside manner is essential). I switched to the MDF brand in 2018 when I volunteered and was assigned to Italy providing vaccinations, basic triage etc. for individuals that did not live near large cities. My uncle an internal medicine physician & A pharmacist for Northern California with a medical group, set me as a gift the MDF Procardial. The sound difference was astonishing! My training from being a first responder and situations where there’s chaos and loud noise DMF is the only way to go. The lifetime warranty, replacement parts for life, economic headset with safety for your ear canal cannot match Littman. I know it’s supposed to be the standard. When you’re in the field and you need something absolutely dependable, sturdy, easy to clean, comes in awesome designs which patients of all ages really like. It usually ends up being a conversation topic which leads the patients to be more comfortable with me. I used to have to purchase stethoscope covers that were in different animal designs for pediatrics which were difficult to keep clean in between patients especially in the emergency room. A tremendous difference again even with just doing blood pressure & triage. In the field there be a lot of noise distractions yet I’ve had no issue with MDF. Some people say they don’t like the heavier version but it is more sturdy especially when you’re seeing patient after patient. The light weight when is okay. I did not find the light weight one to have better hearing capacity over the heavier model. Knowing that my triage is accurate is worth the extra weight and it will not fall off my neck & stays in proper place when using a holder attached to a belt. **Q: Is the tag/id removable? where ca i get it?** A: Yes the ID Tag is removable and part of our Free Parts for Life, you can visit our site and submit a claim to receive the part MDF Instruments **Q: How does this compare with littmann iv? noise canceling?** A: There is honestly no comparison. The quality of the MDF is amazing. The Littman has always had a muffled sound to me, but when I used to MDF for the first time, I couldn't believe how much I was missing out on. Superior sound. Can't believe I waited so long to try it, but I'll never go back and I recommend it to all my coworkers in the ED and students coming through a well. **Q: Does this come with the arm cuff too?** A: For this product, you are only ordering the stethoscope.
