In our house the killing in the story means it goes to 13yo+. I would NOT recommend this to sensitive heartsled readers. While realistic, catastrophe after catastrophe does distress the reader and could be more than some want to consider. If you let your kid read it, talk to them afterwards and offer a hug. Your great great grandparents went through the things that happen in the book, but your kid may not have considered all the ways life could suck. Your kid may need a hug after reading it.Excellent account encouraging personal fortitude, helping others and that you gotta be onery sometimes to make it. There was some drunkenness in the bad guys. Some active killing accounts where adults kill adults, kids kill adults that are trying to kill them and there is one brief account of indians killing kids. No sex scenes but there is an attempted rape that gets cut short before it happens. Not much in romance though there is am extremely short twist at the end that is kept proper The bad guys are often fully in control and not many parent figures make it to the end of the book. A distressful book, and I would consider it more grownup reading, but if you have older kids they are ideas they need to start considering and weighing actions vs consequences, even of the bad guys.I enjoyed the books and do wish the story continued a little longer, but seems to be the end of the storyline. Am grateful you can get all the story without having to wait in years between the books being released, you are allowed to binge, and binge I did.Did a few redactions:1. Page 95 of book 4 the bad guy implies he will be selling the young girl to.... Yeah. That one went further than I wanted to consider fully.2. Authors notes at the end were edited to remove the commentary about millions of years. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A great YA read *by C***E on Reviewed in the United States on May 8, 2022* This series is about Tucket, a boy who was taken by Natives as his family continued to Oregon.For the next couple of years he collides with fascinating Native Americans, Mountain Men, and unsavory characters. Teaming up with 2 orphans, they survive as best as they can while they meander for safetys sake while seeking the best way to Oregon. These stories read quickly, and were hard to out down. If you like clean historical fiction, you will like Tuckets TraveLs. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect bedtime story for my 10 year old *by L***H on Reviewed in the United States on January 17, 2022* I have been reading this book to my 10-year old before he goes to bed. Last night we finished the first of the 5 books included in this single book. It has been an interesting and entertaining read for both of us.
