It does not have the stronger Lemon Verbena scent I was expecting. After trying it, I was putting the bag away and realized the name of this Lemon Verbena is not the same as what we grow here in the US.I am not an herbologist but do know something about them. This is Verveine Odorante and what I grew was Aloysia Citradora. They are both Lemon Verbena from the Verveine family, but different species.That being said, this Lemon Verbena is a softer lemon with a sweeter taste, more green than lemon. For a tea, it is quite pleasant. For cooking or use in aromatherapy, it does not work as well. The Aloysia Citradora - like the name says - has a much stronger, crisper, lemon scent and flavor.Seller did a great job getting it to me quickly and packed well for minimal crushing. Almost every purchase I have made of verbena has had crushed, stale, &/or flavorless leaves. This is fresh, whole, French verbena with an amazing lemony verbena flavor. Verbena is a wonderful digestive tisane (tea). The best way to prepare this to be of the most benefit is to steep the leaves in 200ºF/93ºC water for 3 to 5 minutes. If you like verbena tisane, you will not regret this purchase. For the best results, be sure to store the leaves in an airtight container.
