Is it supposed to close the blade? How do I close it?** A: The button half way down the back of the knife is to release the blade, it is stiff, I suggest you oil it and work it a little to ease the button tension. It may take some time in doing. **Q: Big enough to filet a salmon?** A: Yes, depending on the size of salmon. I fish for Sockeye salmon in Alaska each year and purchased this knife to be able to store it in my chest pack when fishing. The Sockeye we catch are between 5 to 8 pounds on average and this folding Kastking Fillet knife works great. For a folding fillet knife it did better then I expected. It's a long blade, which is convenient, but still foldable, so it's easy to bring along with you, and comes with a very nice carrying pouch. The lock on the blade is nice and secure, the handle is ergonomic and comfortable, and it has a nice weight to it as well so it doesn't feel flimsy. The blade itself is very sharp right out-of-the-box, and flexible so you can get that detailed work while using it. All in all, I'm very happy with this.
