Inside depth 11/16" or so. Very unobtrusive. We used these for our walk-in closet and the clothes rack in the laundry. Bought them twice. Love them. And they look terrific and work well. **Q: Will the rod fit through a holder that is 16 x 30mm/0.63" x 1.18"?** A: The inside measurement of the oval bracket is β€œexactly” 5/8” wide. The bracket is open at the top and so it will take an oval rod that is up to 1 1/2” deep/tall The rod cradles inside the holder, it does not go through it.
