The no pre-drilling saves hours of labor when putting in hundreds of fasteners. We use an impact screw gun 18V battery style and it worked perfectly. I like to use the hex head wherever possible because less stripping of the head than with inner type screw heads such as Torx or Phillips. This fastener does exactly what it is designed to do. The best part is that on Amazon vs. local hardware or lumber store these are half the cost. Beats pounding in spikes which always irritates my elbow tendonitis. The hex heads don't strip and can easily be driven in with a good powerful battery operated drill or hammer drill. Self tapping so no pilot holes are needed.
