Then after two weeks it kept it's flatness and was basically the way my 4 year old door gasket was, and leaked just as bad as before.Removal was easy, because the cement they provide dries very hard. So chipping it out was easy compared to the silicone based sealer that was on the door before.I picked up another door gasket(different brand but still made in the USA) from a LHS and it feels much more robust. Where the midwest gasket felt like a very airy marshmellow when squished, the new one was more like a thick piece of bread. There was also a lot less stray fiberglass strands. The adhesive was also not impossible to get out of the new brand's tube.I'm not sure why this brand works for some people and not others, but I wouldn't buy again for my stove. ### ⭐⭐ Beware defective adhesive *by H***G on Reviewed in the United States on November 3, 2018* I've removed and installed gaskets on several woodstoves regularly for over 40 years and am well familiar with this type adhesive. The tube included with this kit was factory sealed but had a consistency that hardly could be pushed out the tip though I cut it back three times and kneaded the tube well before opening. I'd already removed the old gasket and cleaned the channel, we needed the stove to burn as our primary heat source. The result was an unnecessary messy gasket installation that will have to be redone before too long. However I am reviewing this after using it for a couple of months now and after about a month of use it had shrunk so much that it was no longer acting as a seal because it was so much smaller than it had been originally.
