The water can flow easily on the side of the drain catcher, but the hair usually does not go through. The problem I have with some other drain catchers is that the water pools up a lot and cannot drain. This is not the case for this item. The size was perfect for my drain, but just be sure to measure your own drain. It was easy to use since you just plop it down on the drain. It will cover and catch the hair, which you just have to remove yourself after your shower. No more plugged up, gross drains! This was a great use of money in the long run since I won't have to unclog the drain. I can't believe I am this excited about a drain cover.

Overall it’s a good buy! I purchased two different sizes and they all works well. The hair catcher stops 98% hairs and it stays in place, won’t flow away during certain amount of water. Rust resistance but it becomes moldy after a month.
