Have you seen that as an issue?** A: Some do and some don't. I've had several different types and this one is the only one that our red eared slider has not destroyed. When my turtle gets on this platforms it sinks to some degree but not to bad. Just have to make sure all parts are put together really well or they can get the pieces off.
