A petticoat is not needed b/c of how full the skirt is. It's made of good quality.Dislike: the included lining is a great idea but it's about two sizes smaller then the skirt. The lining is straight cut while the skirt is A-cut. I will probably cut the sides of the lining the next time I wear it.Workaround: I wore a slip underneath b/c the lining kept sliding up. So that fixed the lining issue.Event: I ordered this and wore for a Summer Ball event at The Franklin Institute, Philadelphia PA. I received compliments on the outfit.
