Thanks for your question. The simple answer is definitely, yes! I'd love to explain more though, because our sand is something we're very proud of. Interestingly, not all sand is the same. Whilst it may look similar, our sand is crushed from a specifically chosen rock (in North America) to avoid contaminants, free quartz or free silica. Plus, it goes through strict annual safety checks (We want to avoid any nasties from our sand). We spent a lot of time finding the perfect sand supplier, to be sure we were offering sand that was both safe, and perfect for Zen Gardens. So whilst our sand isn't the cheapest, we can be confident of its quality...and that's really important to us here at Island Falls Home. Finally, after choosing our supplier, we tested out various sand grain sizes. Again, not all sand is the same. (Some is fine & some coarse). We've a great relationship with our supplier and have chosen what we believe to be the optimal sand grain size for use in Zen Gardens. The patterns show up clearly, which makes a real difference. Our Zen Gardens comprise of soft white sand in a wooden ray, with a multitude of features. Whilst you wouldn't be able to add water directly, I would suggest perhaps looking to see if you can add a small "basin" of some sort, or alternatively (if realism is less important), you may wish to add an imitation pond. Our Zen Gardens do come with 6 beautifully handcrafted rakes, which allow you to create a variety of effects in the sand, including rippling water effects.
