A: There is no plastic - these tumbles are solid copper, coated with aa food grade lacquer. This is an error by amazon ai, auto filling the listing. Because we had the term "better than plastic" in our copy - the ai keep stating that the item is made from plastic - but we can ensure you they are not.

**Q: If these cups are lacquered why does water taste metallic if left to sit in them?**
A: The lacquer is sprayed and there will always be tiny areas of the copper surface where it missed and a tiny tiny bit of copper leeches through.
