The only smell I have found that persists after use is when he encounters a skunk and gets on the wrong side of the surprise if you know what I mean. You will need something else to get rid of that smell, but otherwise - it works great. It's a soft, pleasant scent - not overbearing. He always looks forward to our bath/brushing sessions!
