The protector fits a superking mattress very well, with no pulling or stretching as can be experienced with some mattress protectors. The material is not as thick as some competitors, particularly the lining underneath the padding, however the side skirts are thicker and more robust than some, albeit still made of a horrible like texture as opposed to a more cotton-like texture as would be expected from polyester microfibre. The protector lies flat on the bed, with no wrinkling and looks as though it will be comfortable in the longer term. One word of warning to potential purchasers - the packaging in which I received the protector has a hygiene seal attached, with a warning message that the item cannot be returned if the seal is broken. I have never seen something like this on bedding purchases in the past, and quite frankly I find it to be unacceptable practice from the manufacturer. For something where comfort is so important you really must be able to open the package and remove the item to feel the quality of the material, as other mattress protectors that I have purchased in the past have looked fine, but felt absolutely terrible.
