I’m trying to clip it onto the back of the crib head frame, but it is a little thicker than the sides.** A: The product page suggests 1.96 inches. It opens flat to 1.25 inches, where it will grip the best. It opens much further than that to maybe 2.5 inches... but it won't really grip at that size because the clamp is angled outward so much.
