These crepe spreaders are simply and nicely crafted, but hey come in a half finished state. Let me explain, they are put together and smooth to the touch, but the second they touch moisture from washing or use the wood grain pops up. The manufacturer should have raised the grain before sanding to mitigate this. Take away is that these require additional sanding with 220 grit and moisturizing with food safe mineral oil prior to use.

I am impressed with the spreaders quality and quantity. I've found that it takes time to get the technique down. In fact I must be a slow learner because I found tilting the pan was faster and easier. I only gave 4 stars because I didnt get the hang of using them.If you're good with sticks you should have no trouble whatsoever spreading great thin crepes and you'll love these.

The price was the best, plus 3 different sizes was great for experimenting what size crepes to make.  Worked great by novice chefs making crepes at Fondue Fest, Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.
