I have an average size head, but massive, thick, long hair. Think it'll fit me?** A: I wear a size 7 in hats. It fits me fine and has some give to it. I would think it would work for you as long as your hair wasn’t in a style that made it all go to one spot. **Q: Is the band removable?** A: The decorative band CAN cut removed, but I chose to cover one with a coordinating scarf. You can also baste on a silk flower or add a pin. **Q: The description says you can adjust by means of a velcro strip but others say it is a string that ties-which is correct?** A: There is a velcro small tab inside the band to adjust the size to your head. In addition there is a detachable cord that keeps the hat from flying off your head in wind which goes under the chin.
