The criminals wanted $60 for the bracket kit to mount a headboard. In looking at the kit, I realized that the headboard would flex the brackets and it (the headboard) would bump against the wall. The easiest fix was to mount the headboard to the wall. Enter the french cleat mounts. Sure, I could have made one out of wood, but that would have had the headboard away from the wall at a weird angle.... so. I bought these.
