We spray around the outside of the house with a 5 litre garden pressure sprayer and it keeps the ants at bay. Last year we arrived home from holiday to find an infestation inside the house in the bay window. We had bought a five litre tub of it before we went but not used it. We sprayed the infestation and got rid of them, havingsprayed the carpet inside, pulled up the carpet in the bay window and sprayed the underlay and screeded floor. Ever since, we have sprayed around the house, particularly the bay window and had no re-infection and it seems to keep them under control.
