Prior to this, the speakers sounded a little muffled, and listening was not pleasurable for long, so much so that I would rather use headphones instead. However, since using these stands I am hearing the music more clearly and using the headphones less. So, mission accomplished. For the record, these stands do not improve the music playback ie revealing more of the soundstage or whatever WhatHiFi calls it these days.
