I felt clean all week and didn't really have to think about it too much. I will say that you need to be comfortable with yourself, it can take a bit of moving around and what not, and for sure you need to make sure that the cup is far enough in or it may pop out which is just no fun. I really liked that this order came with two different sizes just because I wasn't sure what I would need and I didn't want to spend the money to get the wrong size and have to reorder something else. I have been using Softcup (formerly Instead) for years and it worked well. I went to the store to buy another package and they were out. When I inquired with someone they said Softcup had been discontinued. I like the idea of trying something environmentally friendly/re-usable, the Softcup product is not re-usable, so I gave this a try. For me - horror, painful - I didn't make it past 2 days. First, the packaging was a bit confusing. I was reading the instructions and trying to figure out if I'd ordered the large (recommended for me - have had a child, in my 40's) or small. I finally figured out you get one of each. The large was too large. It moved around. The little tab you grab to pull it out stuck out. The small was too small. I tried each. Neither worked. If you are going to try this - do not pull on the tab! Think suction cup. Both sizes were terribly, terribly painful when I pulled them out via the tab. You... ah... have to get it out with your finger by pulling on the side of the cup, loosening the suction grip, to avoid that pain. So, if you're not comfortable doing that this might not be your product to try. I will compare and contrast a bit here, because Softcup has not been discontinued - thanks Walgreens checker - and I went back to it. Softcup is more like a disc shape, like a diaphragm. For me, if I squeeze just right I do not have to take it out to empty it. So, I usually use a thin pad and the Softcup for 2 days of my cycle, which are usually extremely heavy flow. Not needing to pull out, clean, re-insert for me has been the best method I've found for these heavy days in my cycle my entire life. These re-usable silicone cups - again, I love the concept and wish I'd loved the product - are shaped like suction cups and pretty much suction right onto your cervix. You absolutely must take them out and empty them - no squeezing at various angles to empty without taking them out. For me (heavy flow) needing to take the cup out to empty it is frequent. At work the stall and the public sink are far apart and taking the cup out and cleaning it is not reasonable. Wiping the cup with toilet paper and putting it back in? No thank you. I wouldn't want to risk getting any unwanted germs in my body. So, I tried to really put in details that are helpful to how your body works and if this product is right for you without getting gross and making anyone uncomfortable. We'll see if it passes Amazon review muster.
