Not self-retractable *by on Reviewed in the United States 15 February 2024* I really love this knife. For someone like me with bigger hands, it feels great in the hand and has a good weight. The blades are also great. I still haven't switched out my first one and I have used and abused it at my retail job. When I bought it I was looking for the sorts of box cutters that self-retract and thought this was one of them, but it doesn't. Not a huge deal but I remember being a little bit disappointed when I first got it. Not on them - it's on me for looking at hundreds of different box cutters that day. The "stages" of retractability make up for it. Helps when you need to make precise cuts. There is a little cutout in the knife supposedly for cutting straps, but I have found it completely useless against the sort of straps I encounter. Again, not a big deal but slightly disappointing. Thought it would cut straps effortlessly, instead I nearly knocked myself over trying to cut a strap that wouldn't budge. The blade itself does a fine job at that anyway.Most important, it cuts well, it feels good to use, switches out blades easily, and it has a near design that makes me want to hold onto it unlike every other plane Jane knife I usually lose. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very nice so far *by on Reviewed in the United States 12 August 2026* Just received today. Comfortable, usable with one hand (though opening it might need some leverage), and only has minimal play between parts.If you ever need to perform maintenance for whichever reason - it's also assembled fully with normal hex and torx screws, no specialty tools needed.Do note that it appears to ship with only 3 blades, not 5.
