The material is soft. I would be afraid to put in dyer if it would shrink or get pilly looking (and end up looking like a night gown). I am usually a size 6 or 8 and 5’5” but changed my order from M to L at last moment. I’m glad I did bc L fits nicely and loose and perhaps M would be too tight and too short (I don’t like short dresses). My daughter’s size fits accordingly. I might sew the straps up a bit so not so low in front but not terrible.
