Unbelievably efficient *by C***R on Reviewed in the United States on August 22, 2020* I purchased this charger because I had the older Pro Charging system charger that has been in the boat for over 15 years. And it still worked. I was very happy with it. But here was the problem, the older model runs hot while charging and even when not charging batteries, still draws current at around 2-3 amps for the monitoring, trickle charging, and circuits. (The main reason I would shut it off for seasonal extended periods) Not a huge deal breaker but there is more... The old charger would only charge my "new" batteries to greater than 12.7 - 13 volts in the long term. This is pretty much normal but what happens is that when the batteries age, (three years with very mild use) the charger begins to sense that they are not coming up to full charge and begins to "cook" the battery until it loses all of its water. I've replaced many batteries over the years when they got to this point, unfortunately a common occurrence. Well recently, I purchased a new version of the single bank Pro Charging unit for my 4th battery in the boat since I always charged it independently from the other three. (The old charger only has three banks) Even though the new unit does not get hot, does not boil the water away from the battery, it just seemed more efficient and it was, it would maintain the charge to around 13 volts at all times. Even when the charger was turned off to go to the lake. (I have a digital voltmeter that switches to every battery to monitor them at my console) All of the batteries are about the same age. So recently, I noticed the old charger was laboring on two of the three batteries and thought once again, I need new batteries, (2-3 years old) So out of the blue, I decided to put the new charger on one of the laboring batteries and it recovered. It climbed to 13 volts and the water gravity is normal. So I decided, I need a 4 new bank charger. This one fit the bill perfectly. And it had unexpected results... ALL of my batteries came back to life once I left this charger on them for several days. (Three to be exact) They all read greater than 13 volts now and they stay high even after the charger is shut off. But I don't shut it off anymore, it draws virtually nothing once the batteries are fully charged. And it stays cool. You can hear the charging system occasionally give a "thump" indicating something is being checked and probably topped off, then goes back to rest. The technology in this new charger far exceeds the technology of old.I really wish the manufacturers would actually explain why this happens for us techie people, but seeing is believing, my batteries are working again with this new charger. Can't recommend this charger enough. ### ⭐ Terrible customer service, bad product *by C***S on Reviewed in the United States on February 27, 2021* We purchased this item and 1 bank quit working within a year. We only used it for 3 trips that entire year, maybe plugged in 15 times. Since it has a lifetime warranty we contacted the seller and they were NOT helpful. We have attempted contacting the manufacturer via email, phone, and voicemails. We have never received contact back. Today another bank quit working, this has effected the life of our batteries in our boat and trailer. This is the first negative review I have ever left.
