While they do drown out the lighter noises in my home, the jabber of 8 year old Japanese characters and two 22 year-old "men" is still vibrant. These are good if you live by yourself and need something to erase the small bumps in the night, but not if you need to actually sleep. At first, I thought these were too big however; I have learned to position them in my ear so that they not only help with the noise they are not hanging out of my ear. I use almost every night. My only issue is every morning when I wake up I have to locate them they seem to fall out each night. I cut back the stems and found it made it hard to remove and they were stick scratchy.
