I am a chemical engineering student so I have had a few textbooks that were absolutely awful and were pretty much useless since
I was initially worried about organic as a whole after hearing how it is one of the hardest undergraduate courses in college. This was the required book by our professor. I have had this book for about 1.5 months now and I have to say my worries of organic are lessened greatly. This book isn't vague in its descriptions, explanations, or example problems at all. I am a chemical engineering student so I have had a few textbooks that were absolutely awful and were pretty much useless since the content can be extremely difficult at times. I would highly recommend buying the solutions manual with this book. It has detailed explanations of every single EOC problem...not just the odd numbered ones.

I recommend this study guide book to anyone taking organic chemistry.
I bought this book for my daughter. It is a must have for organic chemistry! It will be put to good use and help her to insure she’s doing the problems correctly.

Mistakes in book
I am an Organic Chemistry TA and have used this book. This is definitely not a good book if you want to learn organic chemistry due to its overly simplistic treatment of the content and the mistakes in the book:1. Omission of discussing the Hoffman product in eliminations. Instead, the book suggests bulky bases give the Zaitsev product all the time.2. Mechanisms for alcohol activation with sulfonyl Cl's , POCl3 and SOCl2 are incorrect. The alcohol must attack the electrophillic center and break the pi bond before expulsion of the Cl. The book depicts it as a concerted step.3. Omission of several details - no Newman projections are discussed when introducing the Wittig reaction, FMO (frontier molecular orbital) Theory is for the most part, absent from the book. For more a comprehensive treatment of organic chemistry topics, I strongly recommend the David Klein text. The problems are at a higher level and the aforementioned topics are addressed thoroughly and correctly.
