They're simply plastic with an angled edge along the front and sides, and then four pieces stick up from the middle to support your ball and keep it in place. It's nice and low profile. The first two I ordered were in perfect condition, and I am happy with them. The third one I received today, and it is warped - the bottom doesn't sit flat on my shelf... so I'll return it. I will likely order one again, in the hopes it works out! For some odd reason my package is in Los Angeles, per USPS. USPS stated that it was delivered regular mail, when we paid for expedite shipping!!!!!! They told me we wouldn’t get our package till 10-14 business days. That I had to contact the shipper I called left 2 messages and nothing I have emailed everyone I could email and nothing yet either. I am very very very dispointed. We needed this item for a gift, and now we have to show a picture of what he is getting instead of the actual.
