It became warm to the touch, and it seems obvious that the internal fan has failed. I've set a temp offset of -10 degrees to correct the reading, but the warmth worries me and it's not trivial to disassemble and fix according to the teardowns online. A shame - otherwise a very nice little gizmo. It's small, quiet, and seems quite accurate - comparing to Ambient Weather AQIN and Hydrofarm APCEM2 Autopilot, CO2 readings are consistent. I cannot speak to how precisely calibrated it is, but it has still been very useful in practice. I have been able to get my room down to zero PM2.5, and having visibility into particulate levels has been reassuring. The CO2 and humidity tracking have been especially helpful. I noticed my clothes were not drying properly, which I probably would have ignored in the past, but the sensor showed humidity around 80 percent, which explained the issue immediately. I was also surprised by how high CO2 levels were getting in my room. I had been focused on air quality but not really thinking about CO2 buildup. With the door closed overnight, I saw CO2 levels climbing close to 2,000 ppm. When my girlfriend is in the room as well, it has gone over 3,000 ppm, which is clearly not ideal. That insight alone has changed my behavior. I now keep the window cracked open two to three inches instead of just a tiny gap, even when it is cold, and it has made a noticeable difference. My only real complaint is charging reliability. Occasionally it seems like it is not charging and will turn off. Temperature readings are not accurate at all, and I wonder if other readings are way off too. You cannot change device settings (screen saver, C/F, etc) unless you connect the device to your Wi-Fi network (potentially providing manufacturer your Wi-Fi credentials), you need to download their app, and create an account!!! Also device constantly sends some data to Chinese servers, and if you disconnect the device from the network and remove it from the app - all settings will be restored to default settings.
