Review: An amazing product. In the 24 hours I have had ... - An amazing product. In the 24 hours I have had it I have had a sparkling wine, various sodas and lots of plain carbonated water. My wife is already making a list of homemade syrups she wants to try. I am going out today to restaurant supply to pick up some bag in box diet Dr Pepper (desertcart sells bib taps) so I will let you know how mixing (it's a 5:1 ratio and carbonating my own brand name sodas goes though honestly if I have the time I will be making my own syrups. The owner is great. FYI if you want to buy multiple things or more caps go to his website and email him. He can combine shipping and save money. Plus you can get the caps in much larger quantities for less per cap on his website (though oddly this product is not listed on his website) If you want to use a full size co2 tank you will need an adaptor to convert from the cga320 fitting to a paintball sized one. Ideally the pinvalve needs removed. He sells these without the pin valve on his website or you can buy one on desertcart or wherever and modify it. I would also recommend getting a paintball tank with a screw valve (most have pin valves) as this will let you turn off the gas and will protect the fizz giz regulator when not in use. Again the owner of fizz giz sells these. Or you can just get an inline screw valve adaptor (less than 20 on desertcart). Alternatively you can buy a screw valve on desertcart and replace the old valve yourself. This is very difficult however and you will need a vise and strap clamp as they are screwed on super tight. Obviously the tank needs to be completely empty empty before doing this or you will create a projectile and kill someone.
Review: save up to 750$/year & get fizzier drinks & break the sodascam monopoly of misery chain! - sodastream suckers beware, the hard truth will shock you and have you kicking yourself for all the years you threw away your money. 100$ for sodastream dispenser then 30$ every 2 weeks for a sodastream tank (15$exchange a must at bed bath beyond) twice a month for me (1lb CO2per 2 weeks–i like it fizzy!), 12 times a year= nearly 400$ (or 750$ no exchange) with taxes. OR a single CO2 fillup at a local homebrew shop is 25$ for 10lb. so 1lb sodastream tank 15$ vs 1lb for 2.5$. you choose. i can't forgive myself for throwing away 375$ a year and i couldn't even get it super fizzy like a Fizz Gizz can bc u can agitate the CO2 (shake) thus mixing better in water allowing for more CO2. all the places that have fountain drinks (literally everywhere, gas stations, restaurants) have agitation at the point of dispense which basically vibrates the CO2 and water together thus making it pour fizzy just like shaking the bottle when filling with a FizzGizz. that's much fizzier vs sodastream for virtually no cost, how did i not find this FG b4? luckily buried deep in a homebrew DIY blog comments section was a reference to the FizzGizz, after which i researched and took a chance and made a life changing decision. first was to stop sugary soda and replace with fizzy water years ago, but i finally was fed up with the many problems. but with FG, the most important categories, cost, convenience, space and quality of fizz; easily ticked all those boxes. the only downside is more upfront cost, but you pay for the tank the first time only, like my 10lb aluminum tank was 170$ (or 70$ for steel but most places are trying to phase them out so i didn't want future trouble finding a refill even tho it's only once a year) plus 25$ to fill plus 140$ FG after shipping/tax but that pays for itself in 10months for me, and it's only 25$ a year forever after to refill (still waiting to see how quickly CO2 tank diminishes with FizzGizz but u get agitation & seal of bottle, which is more efficient & doesn't lose CO2 compared with the sodastream scam). i've had 3 diff sodastream dispensers that have broken over the past decade, at 100$ a pop plus 30$ a month for about a decade or more, never again, that's thousands lost. the FizzGizz is robust bc it's basically a plastic banana with a thin tube inside which is inserted into the accompanying valve cap of your sealed water container, roping back to an adjustable regulator that attaches to your desired CO2 container. the only thing that could break is maybe the plastic tubing but that's super easy & cheap to replace & i doubt it even will break. i will be getting a paintball tank for road trips bc then it just fits in a backpack. so score again for never having to worry about replacing my CO2 dispenser. space was found in a kitchen island i have. needed 24” height for the 10lb tank and about 11” width. or use a paintball tank, but i prefer a bigger one bc the cost of CO2 at a gas supply/homebrew is absolute rock bottom vs sporting goods store for paintball refills a bit more, which in turn pales in comparison to retail 30$/lb sodastream which is still cheaper than just buying soda or fizzy water. as far as gas food grade quality, even the big users like coke and pepsi use regular industrial CO2 from a gas supplier; i called around and talked to lots of suppliers. food grade is a thing but it's only a percent different in CO2 purity (99% vs 98%?), and those major brands have been around forever using regular industry grade CO2, plus soda has been made for more than a hundred years and only recently have people suddenly started conscientiously wanting food grade. so if it eases your mind then you can pay a bit more and have a harder time finding your CO2 supply. but i trust a homebrew shop bc they're helping people make their own beer/drinks at home which empirically implies safety anyways. btw make sure you get a cga320 adapter without a pin (just ask mike to add with order, it's as cheap as u can find anyways and u know it'll be the right kind to fit the FG) that way your fizz gizz directly hooks to the treads of an industrial sized tank (5lb & above CO2 tanks?). i like that i can use any plastic soda bottle, not the ones from sodastream (which also cost $). i keep a few bottles full in my fridge, that way they're cold, since CO2 can be concentrated more in cold temps. same with refilling a big CO2 tank, get the tank super cold b4 a refill so the gas supplier can put the maximum amount in. luckily the price stays the same too per lb, so it's not more costly if yours is not cold, bc warm a 10lb tank will only hold about 8lb CO2, but 10lb CO2 if cold. i can understand why folks get a sodastream, it's all shiny and new on a retail shelf and sounds easy (absolutely false if you include constantly replacing tanks aka trips to store for $$, constantly twisting proprietary threaded bottles up into unfriendly female threads and sometimes spilling, needing counter space, loud sounds, on and on, NOT easier and costs u10x the price plus they break often) and they don't have much competition, but hopefully you can see right through the sodascam now and can break that monopoly of misery chain!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Which one should i buy to hook up to a 5-gallon co2 tank and do i need any additional hardware such as an adaptor?**
A: Glenn F - purchase the Soda Rope you see on the Amazon listing. You'll need an adapter to connect it to your 5-pound CO₂ tank. Tech Support Line is (409) FIZZ-GIZ. Buzz me there and I'll give you the details on the adapter. It must be a thru-hole adapter - not one of those that has a pin-valve installed in it. You should be able to hold it to your eye, like a spyglass, and see completely thru it. Have I been helpful?

**Q: I am trying to decide wether I should get the cga320 kit or the paintball tank kit. Can anyone advise about how many 2 liter bottles I can carbonate?**
A: One of the important considerations to bear in mind is the cost of CO₂. To carbonate one liter of soda to the beverage industry standard of 8g-per-liter costs roughly 40-50 cents if using a Kayser 8g CO₂ bulb, about 5½-cents if using CO₂ gas from a 20oz paintball tank (filled, for example, at Sports Authority or Dick's Sporting Goods) and about ½-cent if using gas from a 20# cylinder of CO₂ (like you might find attached to a restaurant beverage dispenser filled by Praxair OR AirGas National Welders).Hopefully helpful.

**Q: What adaptor do i need to get for a gas tank like the Empire 24 oz. CO2 tank?**
A: Soda Ropes come in two flavors to match the two flavors of CO2 tanks commonly used in the US. Model SR-PBT fits the smaller paintball co2 tanks. Model SR-LT fits larger tanks (conventional CGA-320 tanks). Simply specify your desired model number when you order. The two tank types have completely different main valves. Fittings that screw onto them are NOT interchangeable between the two tank types.

**Q: Will the update all metal fizz giz come with this? Noticed it says fizz giz II but it is pictures with the plastic gun.**
A: Yes. The 'black banana' dispensing gun is now standard with the Soda Rope. It permanently replaces the lever operated yellow blowgun CO₂ dispenser. This dispenser doubles as a completely portable unit. If you remove the pressure regulator from inside the aluminum Soda Rope base unit, it can be used inside the black banana with CO₂ cartridges should the need for extreme portability ever arise. Hopefully helpful.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best carbonation kit around
*by G***. on March 28, 2018*

Best carbonation kit around. I have several friends that have soda stream, and they definitely like the concept of FiZZ GiZ. They wished they knew about FiZZ GiZ before committing to the other brands. With this contraption, you don't need other company's specialized bottles; a regular plastic bottle will do just fine. Also, you can purchase your own CO2 tank instead of those little ones other companies provide. By getting your own tank, you can do a lot more carbonation with much less costs. I am very happy with this purchase, and proud of myself for taking the time to shop and compare. The owner is very friendly and is happy to answer your questions and provide necessary assistance. I highly recommend this superb product.
