If you use it to press patties you don’t want to press the meat So it fills the entire base. For a typical sized burger, you can put a 1/4 lb ball of meat in the base and gently press on the lid until you get the desired thickness of the patty. **Q: can you slice a big tomato for like cheeseburgers plz.??** A: Yes, the base of the Rapid Slicer is 1/4" deep so you could make tomato slices that are 1/4" thick. Place the tomato in the base of the Rapid Slicer, then placing a sharp knife on the top edge of the base as your guide, run your knife through the tomato to create your first slice.
