My front loading washer smells. Ive done everything I should and when I switched to Meliora, I have noticed SUCH a reduction in smell. My thought was perhaps, just as the overuse of regular laundry detergent can feed bacteria in clothing, maybe it's the cause in the washer too. This has ingredients that both neutralize and clean and some of them are things you might actually use to clean those gunked up components of a washer. Moving on, I picked Meliora because it was one of the very few truly zero waste detergents. Many are powder and natural, but in bags or pods. Which still contribute to plastic. And I've love my experience so far. It smells great and seems as clean as any other detergent. The lovely smell doesn't seem to stay after being dried so I do wish they had a version of laundry "softener" or dryer sheets, but I've ordered some from another zero waste company to help on that side. It feels really great to be able to make a more environmentally friendly choice and have an awesome product too. *ps in relation to the washer, the smell actually comes from when the water drains into the standpipe in my case.
