It is usually used to hold hot water for massage. **Q: Is it microwaveable?** A: I honestly don't know but I would recommend against it. I would heat the water in the microwave and pour it into the hot water bottle. However, you do NOT want to put boiling water in this item- not good for it and not good for your skin. ο˜‰.
