First off the screw cap from the kit does not fit the Rotopax container however we could reuse the Rotopax cap with the kit and it seals excellently. The Scepter Spout kit includes a seal that not only seals but actually attaches to the inside of the spout so it wont fall off as soon as you remove the cap (like Rotopax does). Job well done there. The pressure equalizer is a good design that works very well. In contrast using the Rotopax spout it might take 6 minutes to empty a 3.5 gal container.....its a very slow and arduous process to hold the can in place and at the same time push on the spout so it will leak gas into the tank....and the operative word here is leak.... it takes forever. thank you Scepter! Flexible Spout: The spout is somewhat flexible so it allow one to insert the tip into the filler before tipping the can to pour fuel. Heres how to cap the nozzel! - These spouts work fine for Ameri-Can or Scepter manufactured cans. Scepter is who makes the spout. These are the Canadian version and marked that way on the package. I was able to install one on my new Ameri-can I bought at Walmart for less than 10 bucks. My can was manufactured by Scepter in Miami, OK. It fit perfect and the nut is identical to the one that was on it. That is the key for these to work it had to have the cap with the click lock on it and be manufactured by Scepter. It should state that on the manufacture info that was printed into your can. I did remove the annoying black click lock off the can so the nut will go on and off easier. As for capping off the spout. You use the yellow button inside of the nut. For people who can't read and understand the screw on cap is for a VENT on vented cans not available in the USA thanks to Obama. I am concerned you may not be qualified to transport or use gasoline. Forget about the cap, it's useless. The spout isn't threaded so just trash the cap. Instead, when storing the gas insert to spout inside the tank and use the included disc under the threaded ring to seal the neck. The seal is tight and the spout is safely out of the way. When ready to dispense, just unscrew and pull out the nozzle and resecure to pour normally. The built in vent is a nice touch, it's OK to trim the spout back some which will increase the flow.
