Take the bolts out that are used to select the height of the TV and there you go. It will have the stem that fits into the upright still attached and might be a bit awkward if you are trying to pack. But you do not have to remove the TV from the bracket. It was easy to assemble, is very sturdy and stable, and yet easily relocated when I want to move it. One minor complaint is that it isn't easy to adjust the height with the television mounted in place because you have to remove two bolts that are stuck through the support shaft. With the TV in place, the part you are attempting to adjust is pretty heavy. This is easy with two people but a challenge for one.
