Haven't quite finished reading yet - almost. This book and its ideas are helpful, in the sense that they give you some perspectives/approaches to practice in day-to-day situations. There is nothing to lose in considering these habits. If you're not comfortable with general spirituality, then this book will not be a comfortable match, because it focuses on adjusting our own immediate judgements, rather than angrily protecting ourselves from other beliefs and behaviors. Very fundamental goals. Broad ideas with a few real-life, worldly applications offered. Lots of history related to Jesus' human life as well. I will refer to this more than once because it is inspiring for everyday weaknesses and growth-goals. I read it slowly because I want to learn while I read.I believe there are two kinds of people: Those who are determined not to change and are desperately clinging to their beliefs and way of life, and then there is those, like me, who realize that life could be much happier, healthier and more creative. But so much has to be changed in one self that it seems impossible - everytime you make a step forward you realize more and more how much work there is to be done, and how much is wrong both in and around you. This is the third book I've read that was channeled by Tina Louise Spalding. The teachings and advice in the books have helped me to see that it is actually possible to live happily, and it shows how to do it. My life actually gets better day by day and the process is fun and rewarding. There are lots of things that I would want to improve faster, but I also get the feeling that it can't be done too fast and I'm happy with my progress. The principles in this book are not different from the other great spritual teachers in the world coming forward at the moment. The difference is that this is written by a person whom we all have so many ideas about and you realize how deep the stories of Jesus is woven into our history. I have always known that the bible was written by too many people to have consistency, and that important things had got lost. The teachings in this book makes it feel like your head is going to explode, but also that this is how things really work.
