This 18" bulb is a perfect replacement, and it could not be easier to install. The one thing you have to do is follow the directions, though. LEDs like this only need power on one side. So if you take out your old fluorescent bulb and simply slide this in, it won't work. Instead, you have to disable the ballast that's in the fixture. This is not difficult at all, BUT if you don't know what you are doing when it comes to electrical, or working with electric makes you nervous, find a pro. But if you're handy, and you know how to work with electric safely, this job is easy. The directions have all the details you need, and this can be done in under a half hour easily. Once installed, the light is nice and even, quick on, and bright. Price is good for sure, and this thing comes packed safely. In fact, the only reason it loses a star is because there was too much packaging and we missed the directions the first time around.
