If I do not use a product with good hold, half of my hair looks like it has been teased. I should have known that a set with a spray instead of mousse or gel wouldn’t cut it, but there’s always the hope that a product will somehow miraculously tame and soften to the point that a stronger substance isn’t needed, right? WRONG. It’s needed and absent in this set. The shampoo is fine, lathers and makes my hair clean. The conditioner smells like pickles and isn’t moisturizing enough. The cream is perfumed (I guess to make up for the previous pickle step) and is average, similar to many other leave in conditioners I’ve tried. The spray gets everywhere no matter how careful I try to be and does not have a strong smell. The first time I used only these products and obviously my curly ‘do was a disaster. The second time I added my regular curl mousse and it looked great, maybe even a littler curlier in the back than usual. Then I tried less mousse and more spray and the results were just unimpressive. Since the bottles are small and only last about a week, I would expect unprecedented results at the $46 price point.
