To do that, I hold her leg and spray it, which means I get the spray on my hand (and her leg). Then I wash my hands. I've never had any reaction by spraying this product on my hand, so you might want to try it. **Q: My dog chews her paws non-stop! But my puppy just turns and walks away!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works well for some dogs *by A***. on February 10, 2026* So we got a puppy last year, and of course he did what teething puppies do and began chewing on everything. In an attempt to try to stop it we picked up some of this bitter apple spray to try. We'd purchased it before years ago for a different puppy, and it absolutely did not work on her - she continued chewing on things as if we'd just added flavoring. Because of this experience we were skeptical if it would work on this new pup, but figured it was worth a shot. Much to our delight, he IMMEDIATELY stopped chewing on anything we sprayed with this. He is very much put off by it, and it has been a huge success.
