I'm not seeing how to detach the base from the hook itself in order to screw into the wall.** A: There is a little tiny screw at the base. You need the tool they included to loosen that. Then the metal piece you screw to the wall will come free. Attach that piece to the wall and then fit the top over it. DO NOT remove that little screw all the way as it's very easily lost and also a pain to get back into the little hole. Just do it enough to give yourself space to maneuver the top over the wall mount piece. **Q: Any way to install without drilling? Would like to put these on back of bathroom door.** A: No! Matches the closet door pulls I got. Hung my coats, School backpacks and it all held so far. Do not recommend using as key holders as the knobs are thicker than a key ring. They were very easy to install, pre-drilled my holes, put the plastic dowels and screwed it in.
