I put a small fleece blanket inside of mine ( easy to remove & wash) so there is still plenty of room. Not knowing what type and age of your adult cats, I suggest the large. If they weight 10.5 now, they will grow more? I originally bought it for my adult 13 yr old Cat, that weighed 13-14 Lbs. But, She passed away a week before receiving this item. (Most likely it would have been to tight for her) I have another cat of 10 yrs old that is using it now. He uses it for like afternoon cat napping only ;) It is just right for him. He weighs about half of what my other cat did. The cat in this advertisement pic, my 10 yr old cat is probably half the size of the one shown in this ad pic. My intention was to buy both my cats one of these beds. For Winter if kept on the floor, Id suggest if in cold areas put some xtra bedding in the bottom tho. Where I am it is quite cold in the Winter. Good luck **Q: How do you hand wash it? I have no idea what this means.** A: I haven’t washed it yet. My washing machine has a gentle cycle, so I’ll probably use that. I suggest washing it alone or perhaps in a net laundry bag. He seems to like it pretty well, he has a few “houses” and rotates between them but he took immediate interest in this one and this seems to be his second favorite out of his collection & I’ve had it for a few months now. He chewed the hanging ball thing off pretty quickly after I bought it (but that’s to be expected since he is a bunny & not a cat) I also had to take the pad that was inside of it out because he kept.. um.
