It will elevate any surface you drape this over, but unlike others it still maintains its functionality. Some blankets seem so delicate that the stitches will come loose if you pull it up to your chin from your feet, but not this one. The quality is apparent. I've washed and dried it without having to do anything more than (quite) a few extra drying cycles on low heat, but this blanket is definitely worth it. It's also like having a weighted blanket as well due to how much material there is and how thick and luxurious it feels.
