## Description

Anker Rechargeable Bolder LC90 LED Flashlight, Pocket-Sized Torch with Super Bright 900 Lumens CREE LED, IPX5 Water-Resistant, Zoomable, 5 Light Modes - desertcart.com

Review: Very bright - Anker makes very high quality products and is one of the most reputable desertcart brand type products I’ve ever used! Boulder Flashlight Review: Thank U Anker for providing HONEST LUMEN RATINGS unlike sooo many flashlight brands on desertcart claiming 1000-100000 lumens when they only output 10-30% of that. These Anker Boulder lumen ratings seem extremely Acura TE if anything I would say they are brighter than their rating. I own both Boulder lights this 900lumen zoom able and the 400lumen which is my favorite it is much smaller and still super bright and rechargeable. They are both tough lights I use the 400lumen at work almost daily for Tig welding on tool steel. Put this flashlight in a magnetic flashlight holder stick it to the die and now I can weld for 1.5 hours easy on high light with the 400lumen. The 900lumen can do that for about 3 hours. It os very bright light and make welding much easier in darker places. I use it hunting or taking dog out. Then just put it on the charger and it’s good again. Easily one of the better flashlights I’ve ever owned and for the price it is the best. My stream light pro tac AA is still my favorite but it’s also $40 and half as bright as the 400 lumens. It is still the most rugged tough light I’ve ever owned . I’m on my second one I wear it on me at work every day. I like having a light that I can just put batteries in when needed also so if needed I can. My work provides AA batteries . I have dropped it roughly 40 times. Falling out of mag holders or falling or rolling off stuff. It still work it is amazing. Well these Anker boulders are not that tough but they are still very tough. They can also handle being dropped. They seem to have a limit though I had one fail where u really have to shake it or tap it to get it to light but it took a beating. The quality is great the price is great. Can’t go wrong. A stream light like this would cost 4-5times the price. I can’t afford to buy a bunch of stream lights especially when these perform soo good do a great price.
Review: Bright and rechargeable! - Let me start off by saying this flashlight is a beast! From a solid build to brightness and everything in between. I will start with build. The weight is just right, not too heavy, but not so light you feel like you have to be gentle with it. I like the one handed focus adjustment for the beam. At fist I didn't think I would ever use this feature, but it comes in handy. If I am standing on my deck I can use it like a flood light to see my whole yard. If I want to see what is going on a block away and piss off my neighbors it will get the job done. Size wise, it does fit in my pockets with no trouble, however I would say that it is still too bulky to be used as an EDC light for those wondering. Most of the time it sits by my bed as an emergency light. The things I could get picky about for build would be that since it doesn't need to fit in my pocket they could have added a bit more texture to the handle for added grip. The other thing would be the add something to it to keep it from rolling away when laying it down on a flat surface. Moving right into brightness I will advise other people not to do what I did when it arrived and that was to look right at it and turn it on to see if it came with a charge. It did! Once I regained my vision I tested it out around the house and in my garage. The thing I like about it, besides being obscenely bright was the color of the light. It is a nice white light not one that has that odd yellow hue to it. Another nice function that Anker added is that it will remember the last setting you were on when you turn it on again without having to go through them all to find the setting you want. When it comes to making a quality battery Anker has got it down and the one in the flashlight is no exception. It does take a couple hours to get a full charge and as long as I am using low or medium brightness it has always lasted as long as I need it. I am sure if you're using it on high your battery time will be reduced significantly, but for around the house high is almost too much. The standby time seems to do well also. It can sit there for a month at a time and still has a great charge. This came in especially handy when we had a power outage that started at 9pm and lasted all night. I just grabbed the Anker flashlight off the shelf and could light up my whole room with it. I would recommend this flashlight to someone that is needing a solid emergency flashlight for around the house, to keep in your car, or for a B.O.B.. If you are looking for more of an EDC flashlight I would suggest looking at Anker's smaller 400 lumen flashlight. I hope this review will be helpful in your prepping needs.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the run time for the max 900 lumen setting?**
A: On the high setting I measured current draw at 1950, medium at 1200 and low at 380. The seizure speed blink blink was 1300 and the SOS mode was all over the meter (maybe zero to 2100?) Now, if the 18650 battery contains 3350mAh of juice, then theoretically shouldn't it last 1.7 hours on the high setting? (3350/1950=1.717) If the math is correct then it should last about 8.81 hours on low. I'm curious what others get on their own lights and own meter and if this looks right. (Simply measure it across the tail-cap.)

**Q: does it have to cycle through the various modes or does it have memory to return to the setting it was on when last turned off??**
A: There is a memory to remember the last setting so the light returns to that mode the next time you turn it on. The thing about this flashlight is getting to the various modes doesn't work well for me. I seem to often have it in one of the two flashing modes, which is not what I want. I read the instruction manual and still can't figure it out. I wish this flashlight had just two steady modes. Note too, I also purchased the much larger LC130 model and it doesn't put out that much more light than the LC90, and I would not purchase the LC130 again.

**Q: I read in the review that you can plug the micro usb cable in to charge the light. can you also remove the 18650 battery and charge it normally?**
A: I used a Nitecore 2-cell LiOn charger for the 18650 battery so that I always had a swap-able spare immediately handy. I also am not as comfortable relying on integrated charging - that's just me.

A serious WORD OF CAUTION though: After a year-and-a-half of swapping batteries between the Anker Bolder and my Nitecore charger, in a split second's inattention, I forgot to flip the battery coming out of the charger so that it went in to the flashlight in the correct polarity.
That was all it took!
One click of the button to test the light and no light and a strong electrical smell later, and this tac-light was fried!
It seems simple enough, but make absolutely sure to replace the battery correctly oriented or there will be no second chance. Apparently these flashlights have ZERO reverse-polarity protection. I had to order another flashlight.

**Q: How do you know when it's fully charged?**
A: hello,
it takes 4 hours hooked up to a fully charged laptop functioning as a laptop during the charging stage. the laptop was used for word processing and access to the internet, as well as email usage. but, during the whole time, the LC9 flashlight was plugged in showing the red light.

then 4 hours later, the green light came on and it was as bright as it was when new.

we use the flashlight everyday at night for a few minutes and in the early morning when it is still dark outside. it lights up a wide area and makes everything clear. it is a great product. the best rechargeable flashlight on the market...IOHO

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome light!
*by K***A on August 5, 2023*

I did buy this on sale for about $23 a couple years ago, and the price is now $34, but I still think it’s a great deal considering the quality of this light. It’s extremely bright. Anker products are well known for their high quality, and this is no exception. The light holds a charge forever! I keep it in my vehicle and it’s always ready to go. It has an adjustable beam that you change from wide to focused by pulling in or pushing out the lens assembly, and the soft wide beam gives a good wide beam of light while the narrow beam gives a bright, focused beam that illuminates a good distance away. Standard beam, flicker and SOS I think, I never use the others, but I do know that if one were coming up on a trespasser at night and used the flicker/strobe feature it would be very disarming to anyone it was shining on because of the brightness and “chaos” of the strobe, and it would work really well if stopped on a dark roadside for safety against oncoming traffic! I have many Anker products and love them all, and this one is a favorite! I didn’t rate water resistance because I’ve never had it wet, but I would imagine it’s as good as any and am certain it would be fine in heavy rain due to the build quality and tightness of moving parts/seals. The ONLY thing I wish Anker would do that they didn’t with this light is offer a red and/or blue lens cap accessory, there are MANY uses for such caps including enhanced roadside safety and emergency uses. PLEASE Anker, produce colored lens caps for this and other lights like this one!
